Adsense Ads? - Letting Blogger.com Add The Ads?

How can you track the progress?

With Blogger.com's newest format it gives you the option of letting them add the adsense ads to your blog - as opposed to you copying and pasting the code(s) in.

However here is my question - How do you track how those ads are doing since you let Blogger.com add the ads you didn't get the option of giving the ads a channel or url name so that you can track the progress.

Is it a question of when someone actually clicks on one of the ads that it will then show up on your adsense stats as a click with the name of the site / blog / whatever......?

I have used this option on one of my other blogs and although that blog itself is not even a month old its not showing any clicks and I know of course that it could be that no one is clicking on the ads but if there is another explanation such as the ads being clicked on but just not showing up on my report because there is no channel associated with the ads?

I don't use Blogger, but maybe they're assuming that people who use that option aren't going to be tracking channels or have multiple sites - it's probably not a completely unreasonable assumption.

You should be able to add the url channel to your adsense account, though, if it's not already there.

It is perfectly fine to let Blogger.com add the ads for you; trust me you will get the revenue for it. But if you want more control over ads and channels it is best to edit the template and then add them yourself. Blogger does not create a channel and that can be a problem for many users like you.

I guess the only way to tell for sure is to wait and see if (and / or when) a visitor to the site clicks on the ads? Can't do it myself of course :) - just have to wait - although I have added one set of ads myself just so I can track traffic to that blog (not the blog that's list in my profile - this is a new blog I created)

Just login to your AdSense account as usual and create the code complete with channels, colors and whatever else you want. Copy the code.

Then go to your blogger account, click to add a HTML/Javascript feature and paste in the code.
