Today, Saturday July 12, 2008, stats look pretty dismal. But even though AdSense stats are available it is probably worth noting that on the AdWords side they are doing "maintenance", whatever that actually means. Anyhow, I wonder if that might be affecting reporting on the AdSense side?

From the Adwords [webmasterworld.com] forum

On Saturday, July 12th, 2008 the AdWords system will be unavailable from approximately 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. PDT, for maintenance. While you won't be able to sign in to your accounts during this time, your campaigns will continue to run as usual.

Hey HuskyPup >> Remember when this happened to us a little while back?

You're referring to that almighty October Glitch that didn't exist for many others!

My earnings slowly recovered during November and December and just as I was about to pull the plug on AdSense between Xmas and New Year it suddenly perked up to 80% of its former self.

There have been some extraordinary glitch days this year but mostly they have only lasted for one or two days for me.

Although my CTR is at a lower level now my earnings have remained consistent owing to much better EPCs, in fact some quite extraordinary click values for me. Last week I had someone targetting me at nearly $2.00 per click!

More of those please.

They didn't do the maintenance on AdWords (and they can't take one down and not the other - too intertwined) Which means for some reason it got postponed and likely will happen next Saturday.

And yep, my stats are pretty awful today too.

So far my accumulated stats for July is pretty much the same.

Maybe... just maybe, after maintenances (revaluation and regrouping of publishers) my account/sites still fall into the same group of revenue share.

$2 per click is pretty amazing thing. I haven't seen such high EPC since a long time.

Not to me, that I am receiving much higher CPC, comparing past very bad months

Have they moved me to a new server?

Yesterday was within 3% of my daily average and today is steaming for me!

I better not say too much unless I upset the applecart.

Usually summer is slow for some publishers. Higher for others. Could this weekend mark the beginning of the traditional summer traffic dip?

Ouch. Absolutely awful weekend. Just awful.

Today seems average. Fingers crossed it wasn't a long term drop.

Are the ads really that bad? AdSense click count on my sites is typically down 50%-70% from where it once was.

Well Saturday was nothing to brag about for me, but Sunday (July 14th) was the best day yet this month, which means it was an ok day, but still nothing to brag about.

Last Thursday was the worst day in two years for me... until yesterday. Bleah. And so far today isn't looking much better. Oh hey - a one cent click!

Well the benefit of bottoming out is that one can only go up from there.

I admit it's really difficult to sit still through numbers like these, but overall I'm still way up for the year, and I have a couple more sites I'm going to roll out soon, and Halloween's coming up... but yea, it's *really* difficult to sit still through this...

Saturday was slow for me (as it always is), and Sunday was good (also normal).

EPC continues to run far ahead of the same period last year, which suggests that advertiser demand remains strong.

EPC continues to run far ahead of the same period last year, which suggests that advertiser demand remains strong.

My EPC is +26.98% meanwhile my CTR is -29.39% and actual clicks -28.29%.

Considering my widgets are expensive and there have been huge cutbacks and layoffs in the USA and UK, it does not surprise me that much visitors are not shopping heavily for my widgets.

The companies advertising more heavily are obviously trying to drive trade in their direction.

Also, Google has tightened up its definition of a "valid click," so repeated or accidental clicks by clueless or confused users probably aren't being credited as readily as they were a year ago.

Looks like I'm back to situation normal with updations & earnings!

My metrics are diabolical for today, they've fallen off the radar and all the advertisers I can see are the usual...an absolutely yucky day so far.
