That's dated April 1, 2004, but I think there were earlier discussions on the AdWords side--which makes sense, because Google introduced it to get advertisers more interested in the Content Network (that's us).
Looking at your 2005 post, I think the reason people didn't respond well to it is that what you described is not what Smart Pricing is about (and so they didn't say, "Oh, you're talking about Smart Pricing!"), or even close to it, and in fact you pulled together different issues (sources of traffic and self-clicks, for example) under the same umbrella.
Sorry, but your claim to have invented Smart Pricing has less to back it up than Al Gore's claim to have invented the Internet....
