This domain has several thousand high quality pages on subdomains, but on one of the subdomains there was a serious copyright issue (torrent serp links), hence the "ban".
Also, I don't own the domain, and the owner is freaked out, since his ads aren't displaying on his subdomains either.
Each day now is a heavy loss in income, so I'm not sure what to do - should I stay calm and wait for reactivation, or start replacing AdSense ads with other programs? Suggestions are highly appreciated.
Did anyone experience the same? What was the outcome?

You need to come clean with the owner
Have him signup at Google webmaster tools using his AdSense account email and establish domain ownership from there by uploading a file to root directory (details are on webmaster tools)
You do the same but for the subdomain
Then have him contact AdSense support and confirm that the subdomain was not under his control.
What does "torrent serp links" mean?
Hobbs: That's good advice. I've followed your instructions, thanks a lot. I had put links to some (bit)torrent search engine result pages on one of my subdomains - not smart, and definately a violation.
I think I'll wait a week or so for the AdSense team to reply (how long does this usually take?), and if I hear nothing or get negative feedback, I will research what other programs are available in here in Norway.
However, I found this info about the subject [google.com] at AdSense Help, and it's comforting to read that:
Should you receive such a notification, please be assured that we would like to work with you to continue your participation in the AdSense program. After making the requested changes, please respond to the notification so we may review your site again and update your account records to indicate compliance with our program policies. If you have questions or concerns about the changes you've been asked to make, you are also welcome to request clarification.
So I still have some faith that they will reactivate the ads.
Btw, does anyone know what they mean by "update your account records"?
