Hi all,

I have a query here, "does keeping adsense in a site or a blog actually have any effect in google ranking?"

What I mean is does google give any kind of preference to sites who are using their adsense service?

Sorry if i am sounding stupid here!

According to Google, there is no effect what so ever on a site's Google search engine ranking, they maintain that the two departments (Search & AdSense) run as separate independent business units.

It has been found that the contrary is more likely, i.e. putting AdSense (specially if you have too many ad units per page) lowers your chances to some degree for some webmasters to link to your site, thus making it harder for those sites to improve in ranking.

According to my own experience, sure not.

AdSense and the search engine are like 2 complete different companies.

In addition to what Hobbs said, putting AdSense on you page changes that page. Any change to a page can affect that page. There is no telling whether it will be a positive or negative as far as SE ranking.

Aside from that, I believe that most webmaster are fairly convinced that using AdSense does not cause an intentional change in your Google ranking. I'm not as willing to bet on your MS ranking.
