I've built a social networking community for a niche topic. The content management system that I'm using allows me to create pages that only registered members of the community can see. When a search engine looks at my site, it won't even know that these pages exist.
My next step is to begin writing informative articles. I plan to submit my articles to various article directories, but I'd also like to place them on my site (in a members only area, so that I will not be penalized for duplicate content).
My question...if I place Adsense ads on my articles, will relevant ads about the specific topics still be shown even though they are on pages that only registered members can get to?
Thanks in advance for your insight!
do you know about the Site Authentication feature in AdSense? It allows you to give the AdSense bot permission to crawl your password protected pages.
I didn't realize this either, thanks. I somewhat recently password protected a portion of a site of mine for copyright protection reasons and did not realize I could put ads on those pages. I guess I just never paid attention to that info in the past because it wasn't applicable.
