If you have a legit copy, try asking the game company's customer support to replace the media. Most used to be willing.

Legitimate ethically, maybe, but not legitimate under the terms of either the DMCA or, most likely, the EULA you agreed to when installing the game initially.

Actually I am pretty sure they are legal is some countries where making backups is legal. DMCA = America.

Actually, you don't even need to run a crack site to get booted.

All you have to do is get botted and even though you have nothing to do with, or even know about it the will boot you out.

Just had it happen to me.

With Google, your Guilty until proven innnocent and they don't give you a chance to prove your innocence so your just plain guilty.

Of course there are those who will say, oh right what did you to get booted and I actually used to be one of those.

Now I know what all those people were talking about.

I had read those already. They are from 2005 and from what I've read here and elsewhere, it's like winning the lottery to have it re-instated these days.

I didn't get the chance to provide them any information. After I submitted the request form asking questions and offering any logs they might need, I got the standard "No Soup for You" reply that most other people get.

Not worried about it, Adsense was not making me a lot of money anyway and I've already moved on and will probably make more from other programs.

I just didn't like the fact the I didn't even get the chance to present a case. Good thing Google don't run the criminal justice system yet :)
