How to know source?

Google Adsense Site Diagnostics lists url not found. Most of these come from broken url on other sites. For example, someone puts by mistake a trailing "." in the url. It would be nice that Google lists the source pages as well, so I can contact the site owner and ask for a correction.

I have found most of those types of incoming links by using Yahoo siteexplorer and/or the server logs of the site, but never manage to find them all.

I found this line in my logs (changed pagename):

[28/Feb/2008:11:27:03 -0600] "GET /webpage.php. HTTP/1.1" 404 630 "-" "Mozilla/5.0 (compatible; Googlebot/2.1; +http://www.google.com/bot.html)"

What does this line main? Googlebot spidering my site?

Notice the point behind php. It is a relative url, so the mistake must be on my site? But I am sure there is no such link on my site. Where is that trailing "." coming from?

That full stop is in a link on some other site.

It might even be in a forum where someone posted your link with a full stop after it to end the sentence.

Yahoo siteexplorer may well help you find it.
