i am new to this world. I want to host a web site and i have no idea of how i ll get money when people visit my site. Firstly is it possible that i get money through the traffic. if so who will give that money, what type of hosting providers should i rely on. And if i am providing online movies and i direct them to sites like youtube then will i get any money for doing so...

You are also going to have to realize some basic things about adsense. The first thing is that you have to apply for adsense. You have to submit your site's url so that they can review and approve it. Once approved you can go through the steps of adding the codes to your site.
You get paid when visitors click on the ads that appear on your site. You do get a small amount of earnings (average 1 - 5 cents) when the ads are viewed as opposed to when the ads are clicked but you make less money.
You get paid when your earnings are $100 for the month and you can opt to get paid by either regular check or by bank transfer.
Now as to WHEN you get paid I suggest you bookmark this thread because every month us "crazies" post about when that "payment in progress" line appears on our adsense accounts!
Adsense payments usually go out the last week of the following month. For example lets say you reached the $100 that you earned from adsense for the month of January 2008. You should be getting your payment around the last Tuesday of February 2008 if by bank tranfer and the end of the last week of February if you are getting your adsense payment by regular check.
The operating your domain thing is something that hopefully the others can answer for you.
