Good to have the heads up. This is important data, useful for finding trends in what people want from your site. This gives an idea of what to build to meet demand, or content to make more accessible.

If you have data older than a year then download it immediately. Even if you don't use it now, you may want to consult it sometime in the future.

My question is, will this data culling be a yearly thing based on calendar year (i.e. at the end of 2007 all data from 2006 and older is deleted)?

Or will data be removed on a monthly basis? So that anything older than 12 months at any given time will be removed? I would guess this is the case.

This data is also saved in your server log files and Google analytics. Just in case if don't know.. otherwise just save the data fro adsense account

Effective December 10, AdSense for Search top query data that's more than a year old will no longer be available. If you have any critical reports, please run and save them prior to December 10.

This appeared at the top of the Adsense login today.

If you want to be able to compare data from last year against a date from this year, you need to save the reports ASAP.

Yes, "Adsense for Search". I run it on several sites and it does pretty well, (about 1/2 of the what the context ads bring in).

I run the search box at the top and the bottom of the pages -- it provides a decent "search this site" tool, and if the user clicks a Sponsored Link in the search results, you earn.

I saved the "report.csv" file to my PC, but what's the proper type of software required to read this info?

Right now when I click on the file, it opens up in WordPad, but the data under "Date Queries Clicks CTR eCPM Earnings" is not lined up in the columns correctly, so it's difficult to read.

Open it with a program like Microsoft Excel.
