Here is my question. Since I updated my site with a new layout I have seen a drop in clicks (traffic remains exactly the same). So far the only change I see compared to the old site in using adsense ads is the use of the following colorscheme in the current site:
NOW:
google_color_link = "black";
google_color_text = "black";
google_color_url = "red";
BEFORE:
google_color_link = "black";
google_color_text = "red";
google_color_url = "red";
Did anyone see a change as well due to this? Thanks for the feedback. I have in the meantime used the before colorscheme to see if things work again (perhaps the old one put the keywords more in the foreground? Whereas with the new one it showed 2 black lines which was maybe too much text?)
Different sites need different ad color palettes. I can't say whether the color change you describe caused your drop in clicks, but you might find some useful design tips here:

Hope that helps,

I tried an experiment using half/half navy blue and red for the text color and did much better with red over the navy blue(dark enough to look black on many monitors), a big difference in fact. Generally, I would say of my sites, the ones using red in the design and as the text color have the highest CTR. The designs don't have a lot of red in them but enough to make the red text links match the design.
