Yep, there is a UK member here who has a fabulous wine site with AdSense.

Certain spirits seem ok too however don't try beer though, very strange.

Note that it mentions "sales or promotion", I guess as long as you don't sell bottles or actively promote sales, it would be okay, such as a site discussing wine in general, etc.

Nonetheless I would suggest that the OP ask the AdSense team before doing this. Wine may not technically be included in "beer or hard alcohol", but this seems like more of a loophole than a deliberate policy.

I've got articles about single-malt whiskies, and wine on my site. The pages display ads for things like whisky tours, Scottish water (for use with whisky), wine tours, winemaking directories, online wine merchants, and Oktoberfest tours that obviously involve drinking.

The rules say not to use AdSense on pages that sell or promote alcohol. Unless you're selling or promoting alcohol--as opposed to merely writing about it--I can't see why there would be a problem. (Google obviously wouldn't serve alcohol-related ads if it didn't want booze even mentioned on an AdSense publisher's site.)

Woot!, one of the famous AdSense case studies ([google.com ]), actually has an entire section of its site designed just for selling wine. It's called "Wine Woot!"

You can see there are just as many AdSense ads there as there are on the regular Woot!.

Sounds like Google's right hand doesn't know Woot the left hand is doing.
