Hi all,

Since I've joined Adsense, I found this forum really perfect place for me to learn..and improve myself. Here I found many successful guys..with high earning. It is so great to hear that.

Acctually, I really love "work from home" & be "My own Boss" and Adsense is a good program for me to start with. So I will quit my current job soon and concentrate on this program.. Do you think that it is a risky investment?

But, the most important thing is: TRAFFIC - No traffic, No Money.

My website's traffic now is really low: under 40 visitors. I think that to earn 10$ a day (My current daily wage), I MUST attract at least 300 visitors per day. But how to get that far..? So my question for you, experienced guys:

- How to increase the traffic? What I should do to get that? Anyone of you here start a new website with low traffic like me?

Much appreciated for your reply.

Thanks,

Kurt

well i wouldn't quit your day job just yet untill your becoming an abudant person and not even have to second guess it.

Wow you get by on 10$/day, where do you live?

Add Content, Search Engine Optimize it, Continue to Read, and Associate with successful adsense gurus who will pull you up because their on higher grounds.

Improve in all areas of life, financially, physically, mentally, spirtualy, read books. To much, anyways, add content,

one page a day = 365pages by the end of a year
after 10 years you would have 3,650 pages of content which will probably earn a 6 figure income if I'm not mistaken?

I would suggest that before you quit the day job, get the site up and running for at least a couple of months, making the minimum profit to meet all your requirements. I wouldn't rush into it as your sole source of revenue just yet. I know that a small amount of money in your country can go a long way, but I wouldn't put all my eggs in one basket just yet. Perhaps there is a way for you to reduce the hours on your regular job, therefore increasing the amount of time you have to work on your adsense stuff.

If you read some of the threads from a month or so ago, there are not a lot of us out here who are making enough from adsense to meet all our financial needs.

Regarding increase in traffic. Perhaps you could look at investing a little bit of money on PPC campaigns until the amount of organic traffic has increased.

Good Luck

Thanks Trannack, you gave me so many invaluable advice since I joined this forum.

I will think about a Adwords campaign as soon as possible. However, the keywords in my field are very expensive: over 50 Cents per click..so It even riskier to invest in Adwords now.

Of course, I will concentrate on SEO, but I really hate Link exchange..Could you suggest me other way to get link? I also submitted to DMOZ, but I feel that it takes years to be included.

Thank you again, buddies.

You can join other forums and promote your site.

Add content and they will come,
Setup some mutual relationships with other sites of similiar intersts and do link exchanges.

Thanks Kazisdaman2 for your advice, is Link exchange the only way to get more popular? any other better way to get that? Because link exchange will cost so much time.

Thanks.

First few months you won't make much, if anything...expect zero and hope for increasing traffic and some links. Spend more time on content, database, learning code/seo...less time on links. A great site and a few key links can go far.

Think "outside the box" and think BIG. Are you the type who does the absolute minimum? or do you want to be the best?

Don't think about making $10/day, think about making $100/day and if you come up with only 10% of that you'll be fine. btw, you can do 100 pages content per day. How?

If your life depended on it, and you had to make $100/day online, how would you do it? What would it take? How much traffic? How much content? This kind of thing should be on your mind when you are laying in bed at night.

You should have a good plan in your head before you quit your job, and have already started the site and gotten some ideas/response. And backup plans would be good too!

Because link exchange will cost so much time.

Running and promoting a business takes time - it isn't a walk in the park.

I would get used to concepts like "takes so much time".

Thank you SUPERPOWER. Your advice is really superb to me. I have seen many sites with huge number of back links ad I guess that they have spent years and years to go that far. Yes, I will think outside the BOX, think BIG. Content will be the KING. And I will memorise your words today. I have learned a great lesson.

Thanks,

I am in a similar situation.

I am 20 and i am a student. I have no interest in my studies.

But i would love to be an adsense publisher for the rest of my life.

The only thing that stops me from leaving my studies is "when i read i got banned for no reason" forums.

Any other ways to earn money, just sitting at home?

I think if i reach 2000$ per month mark, which will take me years, then i can think about going wit adsense full time.

In india with my job i can earn upto 1000$ per month, thats a very good income.

So if i am getting much with adsense i will do adsense for rest of my life.

There really are surprisingly few "I got banned for no reason" cases. When you eventually get the last bit of any thread, it usually (although there have been a couple of exceptions), turns out that the person has breached the TOS - either inadvertently or intentionally tried to scam the system.

Re $2000 a month - attainable, but does take hardwork and commitment, and I would say that it has got harder over time, not easier, to maintain a reliable source of income soley from Adsense. I am fortunate, in that it is working for me - at the moment, however, always be aware that things change, and it is important to perhaps have a couple of other - non-adsense - revenue sources coming in.

What ever you decide - Good Luck, and keep us all informed.

I think you should concentrate on just a few pages with real useful quality content that people and search engines naturally like and link to. Thats all I ever did. No bought traffic, no link exchanges etc. It gets me between 5 and 7k page views a day. And a low/mid 4 figure income every month.

Its not about quantity but quality I think.

Have you tried online gambling? Or answering questionnaires for a living. Or maybe folding leaflets?

Seriously though, don't give up the day job. In my experience nothing comes without hard work and it's unwise to expect to be handed what we want on a plate. The old adage about successful people rings true, I'm afraid:

- How did you get to be so successful?
- 1% inspiration, 99% perspiration.

In some careers you can make more money for doing (what appears to be) less, like professional sports or becoming a pop star and so on. But those guys still had to work hard to get there.

You haven't heard of... X-Factor! Joking a side giving up the day job and working on website can be done with a lot of hard work. One thing you should take note of is... "Dont put all your eggs in the one basket". Diversify your traffic sources and your revenue sources.

Actually i meant any way to earn from internet , similar to adsense, some other business, link selling text links.

Ofcourse one has to work to earn money.

You guys are cruel.

Thaparian - the one thing you have to know is that if someone has a blinding way of making money on the internet they very rarely share it! You will find tons of stuff on affiliate links, amazon, etc, etc. There are tons of rip-off stuff out there, so be wary. Even some of the reasonably respectable affilate sites are questionable.

There are tons of ways to make money off the net - the trick is to find a new, or relatively new niche, and be one of the first. Look at the 21 year old who sold the page of pixels - wow, cracking idea, made him a millionaire. You never know, put your mind to it, you could be the next!

Good Luck - let us know how you get on.

That doesn't make sense, because you've already been banned. You told us about it back in August:

Etonian:

Makes perfect sense to me.

He [Thaparian] has been banned from Adsense so he needs to earn a living be some other means and would like to find another way of earning some "easy" money on the internet.

Itravelvietnam:
I'd keep the day job going until you have a reliable sourse of income from the internet. This probably need to be from more than one source. Assuming you play it straight and don't get banned from Google, there is always the possibility that an algorithm change or some other change will kill your earnings overnight. Maybe build up some savings to give yourself a time to recover.

i will do adsense for rest of my life.

Very unlikely. Even in just the last ten years, many ways to work on the Internet have come and gone. AdSense is, what, four years old? Will it still be here, in the same form, in another four years? Even if it is, perhaps a new paradigm will have developed, offering better opportunities.

So don't throw all your eggs in one basket.

Alright Pengi, explain this one:

He's writing in the first person singular. How is he going to 'go with AdSense full-time' when he has already been banned?

Thaparian wrote ..

"I am 20 and i am a student. I have no interest in my studies. "

AdSense can only be an additional stream of revenue. You must have another reliable source of income. Very few people have made it big with adsense. I do agree that there are a few on this forum who have done extraordinarily well but they are NOT the norm.

One may feel, living in a third world country, that one can live on USD 20 / day but the revenue stream is uncertain and the danger of being banned, IMHO is more pronounced than if you were living in a developed country.

What is your advice - either to the OP or Thaparian - about relying on Adsense or the internet in general as a means of making a living?

itravelvietnam,

I think that, if you are willing to put the effort required, you have good chances of being successful.

There are thousands of people who can create a site in English about London or Paris, but not many who can write about Vietnam.

There are many things you know, that other people do not know but do want to know. Get a camera, take photos, and write about it.
How is the food in Vietnam? HOw are buses and taxis? How is cost of living? What are the popular parties? What are the major universities? How is the political system? Who are the celebrities?
After you are done with the basics, do some research and write about History, Economy, Social Issues, etc.
Learn some Corel and Photoshop, work on a nice design. Constantly improve your English, and fix or improve the text of your old pages.

If you can write original, accurate, comprehensive pages about these topics, there will be people willing to link to it. Contact the sites of Consulates and Embassies of Vietnam around the world. The major Universities have departments about specific regions, countries and languages. Submit to directories that want quality sites. Participate in forums. To give fortune a help, save some money to buy selected links.

Keep doing it. Do your best. See the information that other sites about Vietnam have provided; provide what they haven't, or improve on what they have; use graphics where others used words; use words to describe maps. Open a chanel with your visitors, learn what they need and satisfy them.

Start now, be the first. This game gets more difficult every day.
It's a lot of work, but it pays.

Good luck.

Heres an idea ...

Stay with your job UNTIL you earn enough off the net to move over.

To move to 300 people a day legitimatly without buying links may take a while if you are a small site.

You could try submitting some of your pages to community places such as digg that are popular.

Afterall spamming digg seems to be the flavor of the month at the moment, one more wouldn't hurt.

Let me make it very clear, i was banned and i am still banned.

But i still work with adsense.

I found myself a partner.

He is in same city in which i am.

So don't say again that i got banned.

Anyway i will change my location in a year or two.
Will develop a website in the meantime.

Then i will get new account. :)

Currently i am making around 6-7$ per day.
My earnings increased 4 folds when i made some ad color and placement changes.

Cheers,
Thaparian.

It's great to live in a country where it's possible to live from $10 a day.

In Austria with all the expenses and forced expenses for social security, it's even difficult to live from $100 a day.

So You have a very easy situation to start. In Your situation, I would invest in a good camera and notebook and expend the web site by traveling around and making all the text and pictures by my self.

In india one can spend a great great time in just 50$ per day.

Whatever we earn is multiplied by 45-47.
