Hi,

Been running Adsense on my sites for a while now. All going well until 2 days ago when all of a sudden - the clicks appear to have stopped!

I've been averaging $13 per day in September.

Yesterday came in at $6 - with the number of clicks roughly 45% of normal. Today so far is at $3 - off about 10% of my normal daily clicks.

I'm worried, impressions seem to be about the same as normal. It cant be smart pricing as the clicks themselves have been earning about the same amount.

Anyone got any bright ideas? I'm stumped!

We adsense jinkies can overreact to a one or two day blip. Is your site still showing the normal kind of ads?

There have been some network issues in the UK, my traffic is way down today, I don't know about anywhere else however you say your impressions are normal.

Bad weekend...

Yes I've looked at a few of my sites and they do all appear to be showing the usual types of ads.

Think I might just go & pull my hair out! LOL

I know what you mean - EXACTLY

I had been having some pretty goof days and now for the last 2 or 3 days... it seems that the site is up and running but the ads are invisible.

However, I manage a second retail site and the same thing is happening there... no sales.

I think it's a combination of people being shopped-out after back to school and nice weather.

Annoying yes - but nothing to worry about.

My CTR is fine. My earnings have been going down though. As of this morning, I've been averaging about $0.02 per click.

I saw a fabulous start to September come to a grinding halt this past Friday in a similar fashion to what Mad4it is reporting. My impressions were actually quite a bit higher than normal but the number of clicks was unusually low.

Part of that problem I believe was cauaed by my leaderboards (768 text) only showing a single ad for Panasonic notebooks (in a VERY large font) several hours at a time. It appeared to be only happening on pages using section targeting and it reoccured yesterday for a while as well. Bizarre targeting for an art reference site!

Oddly enough, the damage seemed to be somewhat lessened by the realization of an extraordinary number of $1-$3 clicks... which I rarely see.

I've read reports of other "things Google" going a little haywire over the past few days so, for the meantime, I'm putting it off to some kind of system burp!

I noticed since Friday, that the ads themselves were not loading sometimes, even though they appear at the top of my css code. All the other elements on the page would load normally, but the AS blocks seem very slow.

Just had a quick check against CTR.

For 1st to 7th of Setpember - fairly normal CTR.

8th September - 75% of normal (which would be about right based on the fact that it seemed to go haywire about 8pm UK Time).

9th September - 59% of normal

Today so far - 29% of normal!

How does that compare to others seeing the same thing?

CTR: 8th: 53% -- 9th: 68% -- 10th: seems about normal.

Similar strangely lowish figures for me too. Hopefully it goes away.

Or some odd holidays somewhere...?

I've also noted a 10% decrease in CTR. Think Google is throwing a few spanners around - again!

I don't know about you guys, but in my country the whole weekend was a 9-11 tribute/rememberance weekend on tv. I would assume that this is what is on people's minds at the moment.

Good point about 9/11 - this could well have some effect - I'd expect most of it is still to come though - today/this evening in the US could be slow.

Notwithstanding - my CTR so far today is back abouve 50% for the first time in 2 weeks - I'd put this down to the end of the school holidays
