How To Capitalize Adsense On Photo Gallery?
Can it be done?

Hi,

I have a photo gallery (software used is Coppermine) of a famous actress that received many page views per day. It is consuming bandwidth and not earning anything.

The pages with text content are not earning much either but I would be contented if I could earn as much as pages with content at my Coppermine gallery if this is possible.

Is there any better software that we could put pictures plus content that is better than Coppermine? I am asking because putting Adsense at Coppermine will only display Google's charity ads.

What is your suggestion?

Thanks.

Mistra, I am curious about your ads. I have my ads on a coppermine gallery, sadly enough with only 12 pictures, and I have already gotten targeted ads on the site content. Are you putting your ads into the template?
I have a 4 link verticle unit under the navigation, and an image ad right above the Users list of images. Great targeting for me. May be because of my niche, mine is the most expensive hobby in the US I heard...

Why not add just a little bit of content about the photos?

You could get better targetted ads by simply adding a relevant title tag to the page and to each photo. Maybe even some footer text about the actress....

Although if no-one is running adwords with the name of the actress in their keywords, Adsense won't show ads anyway, no matter how targetted your pages are. However, this is fairly unlikely- adding a bit of text to your pages should solve the problem.

Just wondering... are you the copyright owner of the photos? If not, be prepared to two things: (1) Adsense booting you, and (2) Lawsuits galore from the rightful owners of the photos. This will be even more true when you have serious traffic on your site.

Having just adsense on the pages with only photos can really be a big issuw with Adsense and Copyright. Plz host images only if u have the copyright for those images. One more thing the idea which you have is against the Adsense Tos.

Since when? As long as there is content, and you have permission from the copyright holder it is fine.

The only thing against images in the TOS has to do with image results. In other words, image search results.

Rubbish, myself and many others have successful image galleries.

Ensure that your titlebar and metatags correspond to your image alt description and that you have an equally relative image "on page" description.

You may only need two or three words, that's all, however make sure everything is pertinent to that specific image.

The copyright issue you must check out.

have you thought about using Picasa in the referrals section?

Its photo software so it is a match for your image gallery.

I find it works well with image galleries i have.
