Hello,

Is there a way to discount pageviews I generate when accessing my pages?

Thanks.

none vivalasvegas,
Your best bet is to browse with a java disabled browser or block ads from your hosts file.
Don't worry too much if you are viewing tens of your own pages daily, Google understands that a webmaster needs to viw her own pages once in a while.

none really. if you use scripting, you can use a php script to add your IP to site code and block ads based on it.

Thanks. I asked because I'm worried CTR might be a factor in Google's Smart Pricing technology, therefore I don't wanna decrease my CTR by artificially inflating the # of impressions.

If you're worried about the CTR, just click on a few of your ads to balance things out! :)

Seriously, do NOT take this advice!

Modify your hosts file to have the following line at the end:

127.0.0.1 pagead2.googlesyndication.com

Your ads will all disappear. When you want to see them again (it's good to check from time to time to see if you're not getting plagued with MFA's, ringtone ads, etc.) just put a # at the beginning of the line.

If you are using Windows, this file is typically found in C:\Windows\system32\drivers\etc. If you're using something else ... I dunno! :-)

i dont think your own page views is significant enough to mess with CTR.. unless you have 5 views a day, and you view your website 4 times per day...
