This is my first AdSense year and for taxes I am unsure how the bookkeeping / accounting side of things will work. Since we don't invoice Google to receive payment what documents can we produce to our accountant to allow them to do our accounts, especially if payments are received by direct deposit. How do you guys handle AdSense from the bookkeeping side of things? I don't know if this will differ between the USA and Europe and since I am in Europe that's why I stated European in the title.

Thanks.

My tax advisor is quite happy with the printouts of the Adsense monthly earnings payment confirmation...

...and, so far, the local tax authorities have been equally as happy!

In the US, Google sends us a "1099 Miscellaneous Income" tax form at the end of the year. This is a standard form used in the US.

I honestly do not know how European publishers are handled.

We make 'fake' invoices to google, that we don't send out, but just give to an accountant

fenimor - I had considered this. Nice to hear someone does it. Does anyone do it like this? On a similar note I'm also with Linkshare, wonder can I use the 'fake' invoices method there as well?

In the UK you really need to do self assesment. As long as you stick to the correct figures on your SA return form you will be ok, you will later be able to prove this if required.

I have moved to Slovakia - there were so many advanteges:
- fastest mobile broadband internet on the world (5,3Mbit/s)
- health insurrance only 25€/monthly
- really easy tax = (income - outcome - 2100€) / 19%
- cheap life ( beer 0,5€, dinner 3€, large flat 25k€)
- nice country with nice people

Your servers can stay where they are, you can just move. Adsense checks are coming 3-6 weeks after.

Same here. No VAT of course.

In the UK. I just print out the Adsense payment page for the accountant and that seems fine.
