Yesterday I received the “AdSense Account Disabled” email because of invalid clicks.

I’ve been using Adsense since February 2005, never had any kind of problems with Adsense, I read this Forum daily, many other similar Forums, I bought couple of well known Adsense books too and read them, I know the TOS and Policy by heart. I do lot of searches on Google search every time I am looking for something related to Adsense.

I had several months which I didn’t even reach the 100$ mark, the other months were less then 500$, once I passed the 1000$ mark only.

In the past year and a half I never had any issue with Adsense, I was clean from day one, few time (not more then 3-4) I accidentally clicked on my ads, I immediately emailed Adsense and told them about it and gave them the website I clicked on and asked them to remove the income from my account, they used to reply to me with the “Thank you for telling us” email.

No one else other then me uses the computer, I work from home and only use one computer, even my parents don’t have a clue about Adsense, didn’t tell anything to anyone.

Anyway, last month 2 days after the war started between Israel and Lebanon, I launched a website about the war, it was the first website about the war, and a hot topic like that will attract visitors so easily, all I had to do is throw the link on a forum I own and the rest came on its own, 24 hours later the site was having thousands of visitors, few days later I had to switch servers since the old server couldn’t handle the traffic. Adsense was flying high, I was making in one day what I used to make in one month, I installed the adlogger from day one and disabled ads for myself and used the feature that denies the visitors to click on the ads more then X times. Few days later similar sites were popping up out of nowhere, couple of sites even stole my design and idea. My site remained on the top since it was launched 2 days after the war and it was linked on many websites, I had a powerful tell a friend script that was working perfectly, many webmasters were sending newsletters about the site, so huge traffic was coming from emails too. I had days with over 250.000 page views, I removed Adsense from all my other sites from day one.

I kept a close eye on the Adlogger, I was worried since I wasn’t used to have such an income or to have over 1000 clicks each day, CTR was normal comparing to my other sites, I have seen many people on this forum talking about much higher CTR then mine, but I didn’t worry since I was happy with the result.

The war ended couple of weeks ago and the traffic went down quickly, each day passed the traffic was going down as well as the income, on Monday I decided to remove Adsense and stop the site (the site is still online but no more updates).

I was waiting for the PIP in my account, but instead I got the “AdSense Account Disabled” email yesterday. I had over 10k in my account!

I am 99.99% sure that I was click attacked, I thought that I was safe because of the adlogger, but it seems I wasn’t.

I immediately emailed and made my appeal and now waiting for a reply.

It is heartbreaking, after almost two years with Adsense and not a single issue, I don’t blame Google, I will become an advertiser soon for my new project, and I completely agree that protecting the advertisers is the priority, but then again, I spent one month without getting any sleep, I was working on the website 18 hours a day, and ended up empty handed because of some kids felling jealous maybe (or for whatever reason) decided to click attack my site.

Anyway, I’ve seen some getting reinstated, and I will follow the issue with Adsense as much as I can, but I am feeling so down right now and don’t want to promise myself anything…

Is it possible some of your visitors didn't like the stance you were taking on the war and tried to sabotage your site? That's one concern I'd have running AdSense on sites that dealt with highly partisan or controversial topics.

I launched a website about the war...

Or could it be that in Google's eyes, you were promoting (and cashing in on) violence, which is against TOS? Maybe such a controversial topic raised a red flag at the plex?

Maybe such a controversial topic raised a red flag at the plex?

Which could possibly warrant an email from Google but an outright ban? OP stated that he has been running AS since Feb 2005 so he has at least some standing.

Good luck with reinstatement and let us know what happens.

It could even be something as simple as the rapid spike and decline of clicks raised an alarm in their click fraud algo and you were auto-banned. Certainly what you describe is quite unusual, and I bet "unusual" sets off a bunch of alarms.

PalX, could this have to do with hidden text [webmasterworld.com]? Did you follow up on the permissiblity of your plan to use hidden text with AdSenseAdvisor?

Points to consider - it is a new site, high traffic, and the traffic was mostly through a link from one of your forums. Maybe a filter-tripped auto-ban.

One think that I learn when My adsense account get banned a few months ago is, I didn't send an email to Google for a website review. When you want to put adsense in your new site, I suggest you to send an email to Google first to see what they say about the new site.

If they say it's ok then continue it.

Anyway, the ways you have done to protect your adsense account are great

It sounds like an auto ban. Email support and see what they say.

I would be pretty irate if a 10k payment was cancelled with a simple canned email message.

Honestly, I do not know how some publishers here sleep at night. If I was making what I hear others making in here, I would be a nervous wreck.

There seems to be an uptick in the amount of seemingly legit "I got banned for no reason" threads. Meaning, not the usual "omfg!111 i gets bannededed fo know reesons".

I don't make enough to really worry about a ban, but if I ever did, I would make sure that I had an immediate backup like YPN in case Google pulled this completely arbitrary ruling on my bottom line.

I bottom line is quality traffic. If you are making a load of money with adsense it is due to thousands of visitors visiting your web site(s) daily. There are tons of affiliate programs out there.... They may not pay as much, but I seriously doubt it would like going from making $500.00 a day to making $3.00

I tend to think it's due to content. A Lebanese discussion forum about the recent war? I can only imagine how extreme the attacks and the calls to action would have become.

I also wonder about the decision to run ads on this kind of website in the first place. The point is moot now so I'll leave it at that.

I tend to think it's due to content.

Unfortunately I have to say, me too.

If you explain to AdSense as well as you have here you may have good luck and a slapped wrist telling you to ask before you make such a site again.

Unfortunately, we can't really do anything for you as your problem is with Google and the resolution has to be arranged with them.

Fortunately, we have some great posts on things to do if one should find their AdSense account banned. If you were innocent and had not violated Google's AdSense TOS, there are some things you can do to try to get reinstated.

Please read the following threads for some good advice.
