Will the "Ads by Gooooooooooogle" stuff ever go away?

I don't get it.

Why have that?

It seems like a spammy knock off of Google.

People know and trust the Google name, why not just put "Ads by Google"?

I think people would be more likely to click, if it was just "Google".

Where can I download a template that will automatically generate sites that inspire trust?

Most gracious thank you.

If your business model is based on generating sites automatically with templates, then "Ads by Goooooooogle" is likely to be the least of your problems. :-)

This post has prompted me to recheck what's displayed on my site and I was suprised to find a mix of both regular Google and Gooooogle on many of the ads. Could it be that AS is testing both to determine what pays better?

And as a sidebar, never discount the power of branding. Take a guess as to how much the Coca Cola name is worth -

$55 billion? Wow! I wonder what "Coca-Cola" would be worth if they hadn't cheapened it by using "Coke"? :-)

That's "Coke", folks.

Not "Coooooooke".

But not "Coca-Cola," either.

At least "Goooooooogle" won't be confused with an addictive, illegal drug!

Perhaps G really is listening. More than before, I am noticing "Ads by Google" intermittently on my sites.

Yes, it looks like they really listened. Most of my pages have been showing "Ads by Google" for two or three weeks. Thank you Google. Sincerely.

PS - And yes, as I expected, my CTR has been unaffected.
