I wonder if switching to YPN would make a difference?
Also I have articles that serve ads that are paying $4+ per click but I dont seem to get those type of ads. I get the one's for 40 cents. Is adsense usng PR to see who deserves the higher paying ads or is there something else?
What do you expect, $3 per click?
If you read the last part of his post ... yes, apparently - he does expect $4 clicks. He even has "articles" (purchased? created? OP doesn't state) "that serve ads that are paying $4+ per click" but then laments that "I dont seem to get those type of ads".
Strikes me a bit as another "Where is the pot of money. Someone told me there was a pot of money here. Please direct me to the pot of money." -ish post.
and the webmaster complaining about earning peanuts, i can't believe it. i tell you what: 0.25 $ seems to be the absolute max unsmartpriced amount that i'm able to earn per click on extremely lucky rare days - not with a blog but with a niche site. so shut up.
I am new here and I just want to express my observation. The Original Poster really have a great problem. It's not what he's making but it's his 2000 unique visitors a day. 6.5% of your visitors click ads.
Probably your visitors are not interested enough to your pages that they are not clicking that much!
Where is my bucket of money?
If you don't have the subject matter you don't get $4 clicks, it's that easy.
5,000 uniques, 20,000 page views per day (totally original content 50 pages)
I get a thousand $.25 clicks perday and in Sept that will double.
Stop your greed on the small end it is totally a numbers game, more traffic, more fraffic, more traffic!

The only way we manage to boost our income (and only by about $4 a day) is through googles downloadable software such as FF and picassa.
Still looking for that optimum ballance of traffic and content...content drives traffic....traffic drives me to make better content...round and round we go :-p
What is the mediant age of your visitor?
What is their disposible income?
What is the average spend on a product for an advertiser on your site?
Combine those 3 factors and that gives you the answer.
Web advertising is no different than traditional in these respects.
Like my momma always sez, "Forrest, if you want to catch nice fish you need nice bait".
I bring in business decision makers, college professors and scientists all income $50,000 and up.
Products/Services in ads runs from $50 to $500 with more on the upper side.
