Please, don't give answers to this trivia. I think it's forbidden to write URLs on the forum.
These are some of the most interesting features from one of the worst website I found. It is:

(1) using a page with no content as the landing page for AdWords
(2) using a page with no content to show AdSense
(3) repeating 9 times in a row the same keywords
(3) showing AdSense without writing anywhere "Ads by Google"
(4) embedding AdSense ads in the page
(5) masquerading AdSense URLs to avoid automatic blocking.

If you're a long time AdSenser I'm sure you will clearly understand how powerful points (4) and (5) are. It means that it is requesting AdSense ads using JS server side. The resulting page contains the ads as if they were actual content. This means that the next time that Google will scan it to define the best ads to show, it will be self-feeded. The URLs that will go to the final advertiser are modified using a redirector.
It all means:

no need for the end user to have JS to see AdSense
even destination URLs won't be blocked by any tool
starting from a single keyword selection it ends up with a page where AdSense ads are fully relevant.

Not too bad, isn't it? From some easy speculation I think this website is earning way more than a million $$$ per month.

Hoo.. Just seen the (Sponsored Links) text there. But the ratings besides the ads are confusing.

This on Yahoo! today:

"Froogle, which is still in beta testing, had about 6.6 million unique visitors in July. The site badly lagged Shopzilla.com, the top shopping search engine, which racked up 17.2 million visitors, and Yahoo's shopping network, which had about 11.1 million, according to data from Nielsen/NetRatings."

With 17MM visitors and guessing a $10 eCPM, they raked in nearly $200,000. Oh wait, maybe it's a real sticky site and they average 10 page views per visitor... so maybe $2MM in revenue. I doubt it, but what the heck.

They'll have that $525 Million back in no time at all! Only 20-200 years!

That makes my 1MM visitors a month worth....

30 million dollars!?!

If I was on the right website I observed something weird.

In the source code I saw a link to another website placed before every "sponsered" ad which had the rel=nofollow Tag for a different website name.

Good old copy and paste took me there and it is nothing but ads.

Wow!

I had a run in with them about 3 years or so ago and demanded they remove my URL from their site as it was coded to go in a round robin and the surfer would never reach my site, just kept going to other pages like click here to visit, etc and wind up at a "want to learn more about.." until it was clicked into oblivion!

This is completely random! As noted above it sent me to an advertising page but on the 2nd visit I had to click a to a different page to see sponsered links and when I looked at the source code of that page the hidden link was to MSN and network solutions. These are some sly dogs!

I don't think they are working with or for Google, I firmly believe they are gaming Google.

First visit they logged my IP number and subsequent visits got different source code with benign no follow links hidden.

That's probably what happens to the Googlebot when it visits and they recognize it with a script and serve up the benign source code and no Google ads.

Underhanded as all get out. They must have paid a fortune for having those scripts setup so neatly that the 'bot is not even catching them.

Sorry to disagree with you Ann, but the code they're using is in the same format as Shopping.com - which is listed as a Google partner by Google. Have you looked at the html and compared the code?

That may be the case but when I had the tiff with them adsense was not yet started and they were showing banner ads. An underhanded way to get more page views for them. Mine was not the only link they were using in that manner. Oh well, them that have get and them that don't get sc*****.
