Unfortunately, fluctuations are part of the game. I stopped checking stats everyday, and instead do all of my stat checking on Friday afternoon, so I can plan my attack over the weekend and hit it first thing on Monday.

this thread cured me of the minute to minute adsense stat checking and fretting almost a year ago, and helped me to understand the ups and downs a little better. now i only check 1-2x a day paying more attention to the page impressions than anything.(low page impressions on a site/channel may mean the site is down or having problems)

This is another reason why I am ok with getting booted from google, valueclick beats that ECPM by about 10 times, sometimes up to 20 times. I'm sure its better than that most of the time though for you adsense users.
