What's better for you? I notice some sites have the 728 wide leaderboard and no square blocks in their content. Other sites have the squares and no leaderboard.

Which has the better CTR for you and what layout style are you using them with?

Hello. I, myself have had no luck with the 728x90 but when I placed the 336x280 block, it doubled my CTR and eCPM I was getting with using the wide skyscraper (wide sky was previously getting the best CTR).

As I stated in a previous post, I placed the 336x280 adblock directly under my header/logo/nav area, I placed some small 150x150 pictures of various products I sell above the 336x280 ad. I do not have pictures or arrows or anything that would violate G's TOS. The pictures above the ads are a few products that I actually sell on my site.

As far as design goes, my site looked so much more attractive with the 728x90 but since that was not making hardly any money, it had to go! ;-)

As with everything, you need to experiment because what works for me does not work for someone else and vice versa.

I know of a webmaster on here who is the BIG TIME (I believe he is one of the largest money makers with AdSense on WW) and I checked his website and he uses the 728x90 with obviously great success. I have no idea why his visitors love the 728x90 ads and my visitors will not click on them.

Sometimes one gives up beautiful web design for profit. I've read this from others as well, sometimes the uglier your site looks the more money you make, I have no idea why, I personally enjoy shopping and such on sites that are pretty! lol

Good luck to you!

Well I'm trying to make my site look simple and attractive. You know, the whole Web 2.0 look. Right now I am testing a leaderboard for the first time. In the past I used the 336 square.

Does it also depend what the site's content is about?

Wolf, where was your square? On the left or right side of the content?
