Both Search Engines Broken?

Is anybody else experiencing problems with both Bing and Google?

On Bing, when I click any results.. it just opens up a blank page and I cannot get through to the link I want....

On Google, there seem to be less than 50% of the usual results (since Bing launched their changes almost... Google results have been getting less and less) and I keep receiving 'https://www.google.com/ is unreachable.
Try running Windows Network Diagnostics.
ERR_ADDRESS_UNREACHABLE'

They are saying that it's not a bug, but intentional? [searchengineland.com...]

Is this affecting your business and news / articles that you blog about?

Hmmm... haven't experienced this! What browser and what security levels (privacy) are in use? Sometimes browser updates add new parameters that change search results, particularly with localization added...

I don’t know if it’s intentional or a bug, but for the past few days I feel Google shows much fewer results. It’s like they cut down what we see.

Hi Tangor,

Sorry for the late reply...

I am using Chrome 132 (yes, I know it's outdated but the bug started when this version was "new")..
I am using Windows and have security to the max with a firewall...

The problem i'm having with Google is that the IP address doesn't even connection. I basically "hang" for 30 seconds and then it's unresponsive.. The strange thing is the ONLY other website it seems to be is Amazon....

I was able to fix Amazon by adding a different host ip to my windows hosts file and have not had that issue since..

Anyway... I've been trying to debug what's happening for a while now and here's what i've found:

I need to point out that the only thing strange about my setup is that I have over 200 tabs open sometimes....

When I use alot of open tabs and view Task Manager, I see there are 15 service worker and Subframe connections to pages like [googletagmanager.com...] www.googletagmanager.com

I think this is causing new connections to Google and Amazon to not connect and just hang...

That's the only thing I can figure out... especially if it's not happening to anybody else..

And for Bing, I STILL can't click anything. Any search I c lick even page 2 and it just loads blank.....

I don't really use Bing but I find it really odd that it appears to just be me lol,

anyway, ty for reading.

<tangent>
Funny that this topic should drift to the top of New Posts. Just yesterday I tried the URL in bingbot’s UA string in hopes of getting concrete information on their crawl IP ranges ... only to be hit with, first, a redirect to an entirely different URL (when the original URL starts in http, you know it’s out of date) and, second, a blank screen with a No data available banner at the bottom.

Are they simply getting tired?

Answer, after following-up with assorted different browsers: No, they've just got something against Firefox for Mac, though they have nothing against FF for iOS (nor yet Safari for Mac, or Chrome for Android).

And the answer to my original question (IP, not UA) is apparently lurking in Webmaster Tools, which I hadn't the energy to fire up.

Happy new year to everyone including the inhabitants of Redmond, Washington.

Hi Lucy24,

Ya! I would think more people would be talking about this...

I definantly am not "new" to computers and i'm sure there are lots of old people super frustrated thinking their computers don't work etc.

It works fine on my other computers..

I was able to dig furthr into why Google isn't loading for me and I think it has to do with www.google.com/recaptcha/

There seems to be one of my tabs using the google recaptcha and it's timing out or something causing 6 subframes to google.com. I THINK that's why when I open a tab and goto google.com it just hangs...

I can't do a picture but it basically says:

Dedicated Worker: [google.com...]
Subframe: [google.com...]
Subframe: [google.com...]
Subframe: [google.com...]
Subframe: [google.com...]
Subframe: [google.com...]
Subframe: [google.com...]

And I can't open google.com while this happens (for 5 minutes, then I can goto google, then it happens again).
