Are backlinks with low authority interesting to get?

As everybody, I am trying to get natural and authoritative backlinks from websites in my niche.

The thing is, for some markets (let's say German one) there is no websites with a bigger authority than mine. They are in my niche and truly pretty good but small websites.

What i asking to myself is that, can it hurt my ranking if i build a partner relationship with them, and then, have backlinks as result ?

Month after month, I think more about have theses backlinks because I feel that G currently also put power on the quantity but quality backlinks even if they are not big websites and have a low authority.

Let be clear, in some markets in my niche, there is mostly, even almost only low authority website.

So what do you think guys?

Every time a pleasure to read you guys on the active threads. Thanks in advance.

Rat.

Ok, let's say you are Amazon. So Lidl and Aldi are both much smaller than Amazon but they would still be good sites for Amazon's backlinks. Of course, Amazon doesn't need help with backlinks but my point is that simply because someone is smaller than you doesn't mean there isn't value.

When I look at sites for backlinks, I worry more about if they are relevant to my industry. Would the traffic likely convert?

When I see a dollar on the street, I pick it up. A single dollar isn't much value but it still has value. The trick is to only spend a quick moment picking up that dollar so it is profitable. If that single dollar was behind a heavy sewer grate with speeding traffic in the way, well it is no longer profitable for me to stop and try to gain that dollar.

If you're trying to get the backlinks by cultivating relationships, the links aren't "natural."

As for whether links from non-authority sites are helpful, they certainly appear to be in my experience. (When I say "non-authority sites," I mean real sites, not junk sites with millions of worthless autogenerated pages. I suspect that Google just ignores most of the latter.)

Nope, I have never, ever asked anyone anywhere for a backlink for any site whatsoever and I know of many others whom never have as well.

I freely give them if they are relevant to a specific page of mine and in the last 28 years, believe this or not, I have only ever been asked once by another site owner.

Others will totally disagree with my approach however it ain't changing now.

Time chasing backlinks can be spent more productive elsewhere.

Well, when I'm saying that I build relationship which should result with some backlinks, I'm not saying that I'm directly asking for a direct backlink in the footer :)

It's more to let the websites owners in my niche and in the markets know that we existe, and then forward them articles/studies they can be interested of and let them share it if they want to.

But anyway, it's not really why I opened this thread.

Thanks for your answers guys.

If I optain lets say 10 backlinks with low authority website and no big one for weeks. Do you think it can hurt our ranking ? Or it can only be a (small?) help?
