Hi, i need help, my newspapper is at Google News, but, i dont know why, when you search you get no new results, only 2013 2012.
I try searching "site:example.com" at Google news, i only get news from 2013, i have no problems in search console or at the sitemap.
No penalty.
I disapear from Discover and have no Google news traffic, but i have "organic" Google traffic.
I have no clue what is going on,
Does anyone have the same problem?
Thanks for your time.

Hello doncorbacho and welcome to WebmasterWorld [webmasterworld.com]

Many others have observed similar problems recently, see this discussion about Discover: [webmasterworld.com...]

It has been noted frequently in the Monthly discussion also: [webmasterworld.com...]

The Google "site:" operator has not been reliable for some time. We started seeing less reliable results a while back: [webmasterworld.com...]

Welcome to the forum. Did you change from HTTP to https at any point? And did you update your URL in Google Publisher? Sometimes the migration can cause a problem.

Hi, thanks for your replys, i have this problems from almost an year, its not new.
I updated Google Publisher, and this is the feed at Google News [news.google.com...]
There I can see the lastests post. But if you search a single title Google will not show the result

For example if you search for "Continúa la búsqueda de Ramón Romero" Google cant find the article in my newspapper, but it apears in this listing
[news.google.com...]
The problem is not only de site: is not working, try finding any article of my newspapper you cant.

Thanks for your time.

I would first do some simple testing to see whether the domain you have listed in GSC is the domain you are trying to find in the index. Paste your homepage URL into your browser's address bar and and then paste the other versions as well, to see what you will see. This is a 10 minute (or less) test that will tell you what you need to know. Try using all 4 of these formats, adding in your own domain name where we use "example.com":
http://www.example.com
http://example.com
https://www.example.com
https://example.com

For example, if the GSC domain is https://example.com and you want to index https://www.example.com, you need to be sure that if you visit https://example.com that you land on https://www.example.com via 301 redirect. IF you can visit both domains, it is seen by Google as duplicate content because Google sees these as two different domains.

First decide which version you would prefer to use, then use that version for your main GSC account for that domain. Note that you can, and probably should include both versions so you can see where they are looking. Make sure that if you submit a sitemap that it lists your preferred protocol (https:// or https://www.) You should add a "new" domain to your GSC account each time there is a change to protocol.

Review your hosting access logs for your domain to see which version Google is crawling. It will also show you whether there are 301 redirects to consolidate the "two" domains.

Hi, the 4 formats have the same problem, i only see news from 2013.
But if I go to "Tools" and "recent" i can see the articles from today, thats the only way.

What happens when you visit each of those 4 formats? If they do not all land on one single domain version, then that is what you should be fixing.

All of them are pointing to www.example.com, the 301 is working fine.

Discover has had some recent reports.

Just wondering if your newspaper content might fall into some recently restricted (publishing/ideology) territory. The major tech giants are taking a major stance in the lead up to the USA elections for "misinformation" and other things.

Im new at the newspaper, im a consultant, i been here por a few month.
The newspaper fall on may 4 to zero traffic from Discover, I guess with the Google Core Update from May.
I think this is another problem. This is a bug, the news are freeze in 2013.

As long as your serp entry is "today" and the site is still humming along, there's not apparently much that can be done re: Discover. Do keep questioning and seeking answers, but do NOT neglect the site itself: Keep the content new, fresh, and frequent!
