My G rep keeps calling me on a weekly basis, he is very persistent and wants me to do things they suggest. He talks about implementing all kinds of stuff. It's very odd because years ago they totally ignored me, but that's when I did do all of their suggestions. Now that I don't do all of what they say, they are all over me like stink on a pig. He actually gets kind of irritated about it. I then asked him "Vikrum, what's the advantage to me for doing all this?" He had no real reason or answer and actually avoided it like a politician. I almost feel like the hottest girl on the pier and the navy just sailed in.

They are doing this to me as well - sometimes calling 3 and 4 times a day. Google always introduces some new feature to justify the calls and a recommendation to change ad settings. The end result is always increased spend and a worse ROI. The one feature I and others want is simply conversions. I don't care what I bid, even twice the amount of the highest bidder, Google still can't deliver conversions. The same ads in Bing/Yahoo perform wonderfully. Google is just a money grubbing company adding features to deceive advertisers into making account changes that will make Google more money.

After the last Google algo update my Amazon sales have noticeably increased. It would seem that with every algo update I see less converting traffic from Google which is offset by increased sales on Amazon. Yes, the Amazon crowded SERPS are a big factor. But I think the average consumer has just written Google off when it comes to shopping for products.

All advice I have had from Reps was very disappointing. I guess that they get rewarded for selling a traffic with less and less buyers more and more expensive. Until something cracks.

@mosxu - I did, actually, they didn't want to tell me anything lol. Go figure. Well, I guess they'd probably thought I was doing some form of "espionage" on them.

Probably they don’t understand a thing and download their thoughts from the mothership.

We've seen a modest rise in Google traffic over the last week or so (probably caused by conditions on the ground, since we publish a Europe-focused travel site). If there's been any kind of update beyond the usual daily tweaks, it's news to me.

Anyone seeing a significant decrease in traffic today ? French Websites

from this month :
Bounce rate : + 2%
Page depth: -6%
Time on site : -10%.

From may we loss about 55% traffic and loss about 70% conversions.....

@insideout - I had a huge drop on Saturday, Sunday and this morning. Only now at lunch did I notice a significant improvement.

My websites as well as many of my clients dropped so much that I though many of them are about to disappear completely from the SERP. This is the First time I'm experiencing such huge drops.

Seems like a big update in progress here in Italy.
Every niche I follow is messed up. Shops are gone, affiliate sites have disappeared, serps are full of Amazon, ebay and news sites.

wow insane big update here in Norway, never seen so big change.

huge update also in France ATM, no word to describe the mess, its simply crazy ! there is no more ecommerces in my SERP (decoration) and mine has just lost everything...6 years destroyed in just one minute and the lives of several employees at stake! it's not possible that it continues like this,

in the SERP, there are only the big marketplaces (cdiscount, amazon, laredoute, aliexpress...) and some more or less recent sites without much interest...all the rest has disappeared on the deep pages of the search engine.

What the hell is going on?

Seems to have just happened in the past few hours! Quite a few of my competitors have all disappeared from the SERPs.

Edit: Okay, it's just massive fluctuations in page positions. One minute it's on page 1, next it's page 7 or whatever, and then back again.

This morning, zero traffic. From lunch until now a very heavy traffic. Best pageview in such a short time since the creation of my website. Suddenly everything disappeared... Today G is crazy...

I have to chime in, I have not seen this much chatter in the SEO community on an update in a long time.

Is this update for Europe only? I'm not seeing any significant changes in India.

Serps are full of spam/cloaking/phising websites. Ecommerces and affiliate sites gone. Huge fluctuations in progress.

In my niche (sex toys), I saw the total wipe of e-commerce sites a few weeks ago. Look like for me today is same as yesterday ! Let’s see later !

Hmmm ... Definitely something happening without a doubt ... I've got good traffic however when I check G's SERPs for specific keyword combinations the results are all over the place compared to earlier today.

Dominant sites for several years have been demoted, others have come in from absolutely nowhere.

I'm going to assume we have some sort of shake-up (formerly dance) going on however why, for my sector which was looking fairly good, makes me wonder ... sleep first and check in the morning when it ought to be a bit more settled.

Nothing can be done until then:-)

My traffic is up but conversions are down. Ive just checked the serps for a popular keyword. Its a first for me seeing this.

A massive brand name has totally dissapeared from the top spot. My own site has dissapeared and there are only 10 results......period. no page two, 3, 4 etc.

Just a notice at the bottom saying 'in order to show you the most relevant results we have ommitted some entries very similar to the 10 already displayed, if you like you can repeat the search with the omitted results included'.

This is a very popular, highly competitive keyword. I guess they are thinking if we cant force you to pay us for ads by pushing your content down under a load of rubbish serp features we will just not display your site at all. If i click the repeat search with omitted results included my site and big brand site show.

Google in my opinion are getting desperate to fill their coffers while they can still get away with all their underhand tactics and anti competive practices because at the moment they just do whatever they want with impunity apart from the odd fine here and there which is just a cost of business to them. It wont last forever and they know it. Unbelievable.

HUGE update for my sites, a lot of Pinterst pins ranking above my homepage. Pages that were sitting in the top 3 for years now in the 60s+

Just noticed a blog site ranking higher than my own and three ads showing at the bottom now instead of two for a popular keyword that we dominated before. So now it's three ads top, three ads bottom, in the middle only 9 spots available and I got pushed to the bottom of the list.

Look like Google is focusing on backlinks again. So much for relevant content.

Something totally bizarre going on. My traffic was higher today, but my ranking fell off a cliff like I have never seen. I lost 58% of my top three spots and 58% of my top 10 spots in one day. It sounds like a major shakeup for many people. I'm hoping that the increased traffic is a sign that the positioning will not stay this way for long...but in May my traffic also surged before getting whacked.

Our 1-2 local websites' rankings have been fluctuating. I can't say anything about imrovements, I think the wait is the best option right now.

I run an informational site. I have about 250 people on site at the peak of a good day. My Google Analytics are saying that I have 370 about 4 hours after peak. I dug through the data and it's mostly ancient pages that get no traffic that are suddenly producing. It's very odd, and I doubt it will be sustained.

True, one of my old clients is saying that he has started generating leads again after impacting in May. All the rankings are updated on the same positions where they were on before May update. I don't know what to say.

But my current clients' rankings are still dancing :(
