Mod's note: Members are again reporting seeing many results for one query in Google serps, enough so that I've decided to split this discussion off from our September 2014 Serps...

The following 4 messages were cut out of thread at: http://www.webmasterworld.com/google/4699490.htm [webmasterworld.com]

Has anybody else noticed domain clustering? I keep seeing the same site listed multiple times in the top 10 search results. Two, three or four listings all for the same site.

I just tried it with Startpage and ALL page 1 results (in fact, the top 14) are Amazon.

Whatever Google are up to I'm sure this kind of result is not intentional, or showing in whatever terms they are monitoring.

Try with duckduckgo..( DDG has "in partnership with Yandex" on it's pages )..DDG SERPS display like G image search "infinite scrolling" ..

blend27's KW1+KW2 term
#1 amazon
#2 etsy
#3 ebay

then totally varied pages from many many different sites at positions #4 to "infinity"..the next amazon result is at about #75..then no more amazon in the first 150 results..didn't find another ebay or etsy result in the first 150..

startpage / ixquick is an "aggregater"..pulls very heavily from G..so whatever G is showing one would expect startpage / ixquick to be showing very similar...only reason to use startpage over G is that startpage / ixquick doesn't tell G who you are when you search..

Wow, the results from duckduckgo are like chalk and cheese.

Amazon at 2, etsy at 3, ebay way down the list, other than that, it's all independent stores. Way to go :) That's what it should be like.
