Years ago a new IP address sometimes (but rarely) caused troubles. I haven't heard of anything like that for years and years.

I did this one month back and have seen no negative effects, not only did I move IPs but also continents ( Europe to US). I have seen no negative effects.

That's an important point, chalkywhite, and I should modify what I said above to accommodate that situation. When people move thir hosting to a different country, they can lose rankings in their previous country _{and gain some in the new country}.

Many sites in the cloud change IP address on a regular basis. If you host with Amazon and use their load-balancer services, the load-balancer may change IP address without even notifying the site owner. The load-balancer is tied into Amazon's DNS system and their DNS can re-allocate the load-balancer to a new IP address on the fly.

Done this so many times over the past 14 years and not once experienced any issues with rank. I say you will be absolutely fine to move. The only thing ever of concern was using an International domain such a a .com with hosting in another country, as this caused an issue with inclusion on Google UK.

I will echo what others have said. I've changed IPs for one reason or another many times and never had an issue.

I agree that a move, within the same country, should present no problem. We've done it several times and never had an issue.
