The site I'm looking at had a Panda history. Often times, right before an update, I see this tidal effect:

Traffic slows for a few days as the water is pulled out (tests are run, I presume), and then it all comes back in (plus some) when the update rolls out. I'm seeing all those things happening now, so it makes me wonder. Plus, the timing is right.

Yesterday. Actually 2 of my sites are showing decrease in traffic. One of them was previously hit by penguin.

I'm seeing some movement, but not a 'huge deal' in the terms I watch most... Some 'reworked pages' I've seen definitely seem to be moving up fairly rapidly.

Interesting thought I'm having after reading this thread over the last couple of days, especially 'filtering in' RustyBrick's comments...

We know from the Zombie & Traffic Throttling thread it doesn't always take an update to change the rankings in some way, which makes me wonder if the people at Google told the truth and there really wasn't a 'new algo push', but if rather there's some type of testing built into the algo and it updated itself?

I know it's half crazy, but the 'consistent traffic with On/Off sales (and traffic type or location) periods' noted in the Zombie thread, pretty much indicates some type of result set 'switching' by the algo, because when you read through it and notice people were seeing On/Off periods hourly sometimes, but the traffic didn't change much overall, it's fairly reasonable to draw the conclusion there wasn't an 'algo push' or a 'manual switch flipped' once an hour (or whatever), but it was rather something 'built in to' the algo that 'switched into testing mode' for some sites for one reason or another.

Still seeing the same traffic pattern, and feeling confident that a Panda update / refresh is rolling out (based on observations and comparisons with patterns surrounding other refresh dates).

I see no pain nor gain related to my panda-hit site, BUT my new(2monts old) site's traffic is up about 30%.

Traffic increase and ranking improvement seen starting yesterday on Panda 1.0 ecomm site. This comes on top of the increase of 1/9 that I posted about on 1/11. First month since Panda 1.0 that this site has seen any meaningful increases.

I think so. I have a site where I've got a drop in traffic, but essentially no drop in rankings. One possibility is that since my site is about a topic people spend money on, and everyone in the US just had their take home pay fall as of Jan. 1, maybe people just aren't searching for my topics that much. (That always happens to a degree, it just seems a little worse this year than last.)

But when I look at the data, I'm ranking for keyphrases that I should have ranked for before, only no one was searching them (as far as I know). It feels like maybe Google's tweaking auto-completion and trying to steer people to search certain phrase... or something that would have that sort of effect. It's really strange. I can't quite put my finger on anything definite, but it sure feels like a test. And not necessarily a test of my site, but maybe of the whole niche, maybe of trying to make sure people are using the right phrases to find what they want.

Noticing a wider range of local results in my niche for non-branded broader terms today. My history is clean as in, I never used Google maps with my clean history on IE.

Interesting diberry ... I know what you mean by 'feels', because something just doesn't quite 'add up' with us consistently getting the 'Panda Update' notice 3 to 7 days after people start seeing changes ... We're watching the results change whether they say anything or not, and they tell us they're doing it when they update Panda, so there's no 'great reason' I can think of to delay the announcement or pretend like it's not happening for 3 to 7 days.

It's almost like it's the other way around sometimes ... Meaning we see the results updating, someone at Google notices or 'gets wind' we see it and it's fairly widespread then sends an e-mail that says, 'Hey, the algo's updating... Hurry up and push the Panda Button again so we can make an announcement...'

I think things have settled down here in the UK now. I have to say, nice update! Long tail searches seem to have improved significantly upon initial inspection.

Seeing our site has jumped all over the place in the UK for area searches. When searching on some keywords am now seeing a whole bunch of advertising site links from "Gumtree". The ads are also old and have expired so not sure what's going on there!

We seem to have recoverd a little more from panda, each day is a record breaker traffic wise and still seems to be increasing. However, less adsense income ( clicks ), less interactivity on polls, less social sharing..very strange

Is that using Google's assumption of where you are or the UK set of results under "Search Tools"?

Quite simply I'm getting several sets of results depending which I select, some are quite good, others are absolutely pointless. For instance selecting Google's assumption for a two keyword term I get nothing but USA results offered.

They really have not got this anywhere near refined enough yet to foist it on the public and I can't see how they ever will if they keep insisting on using my ISP's location 250 miles away and not mine.

Tell me, how can p_o_r_n sites know my exact location yet Google cannot?

I also wonder if personalized search could be accounting for some of the jumping around that we're seeing. So far, it hasn't seemed to make much difference, but if they're amping it up and making the results vary more according to the browsing history of each person searching, it could at some point become almost impossible to say "I'm at #X for this term."

Clearly another major algo update came through...what infuriates most of us is that the new algo always seems to "forget" the quality corner stone sites and goes back to the same old spammy, thin junk from the big name or massive volume sites. A few weeks from now, the smoke will clear and we'll rise back to our top positions, right before Google fires up another one. The current results are still terrible, and BTW, codename "Horde" (domain crowding) still doesn't work on the massive sites.

There's no way for you to turn them off ... The easiest way to 'get rid of them' is just to set a rule in your e-mail program and send them straight to the trash without any type of notice to you.

The only other way is to contact a mod (and they might tell you an admin has to turn them off for you, I don't remember off the top of my head if mods can turn them off or not.)

Wow, seriously, that is an incredibly poor show. Ive been registered here for 7 years, not posted much and will not now if it condemns me to a raft of emails everyday.
