How come I could barely find any info here regarding the latest update?

If there is one, it should be stickied or something.

but anyway, regarding the sticking points here

[insidesearch.blogspot.com...]

and this one in particular

Link evaluation. We often use characteristics of links to help us figure out the topic of a linked page. We have changed the way in which we evaluate links; in particular, we are turning off a method of link analysis that we used for several years. We often rearchitect or turn off parts of our scoring in order to keep our system maintainable, clean and understandable.

has anyone found out specifically what this was referencing to ? Maybe they turned off the significance of H1, H2 tags or something...but we'll never know since nothing was specified.

Those 40 points are ALL the different algorithm changes from last month. Panda 3.3 was only one of the forty, and the link evaluation change was another. Panda is only a part of the total algo, and these days it seems to be fading into the background a bit.

The actual Panda update in February passed through here with barely a ripple. It got mentioned in a couple threads, but no one seemed to see much that impacted them.

We do have a thread about those 40 announced changes, however: [webmasterworld.com...] - it includes discussion about the link evaluation changes.
