One of my websites has been having capacity problems for the last few weeks. It was already hosted on one of the beefiest servers I could find. Over the weekend (low traffic time), I moved to a new host that could do load balancing in front of two beefy machines.
The surprising thing to me is that Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday after the weekend when I upgraded the hosting have been record Google referral days. I'm trying to decide if I was being sent that traffic before the upgrade and my server just didn't see it because the site was slow, or if Google sees the additional capacity and adjusts the site reputation and ranking higher as a result.
