"Creeping up" seems to be descriptive of what I'm seeing today too.

We definitely noticed a drop around 2 PM PST on June 14th.... It was probably a 25% decline. This is about as bad as the Panda 1.0 for us, but we were not hit with any of the other sub updates. We actually improved with some of the sub updates(see reasons below). I am not sure why we got hit on this one, but we do have some data that might be considered duplicate content which was supposed to be targeted in this update. We have our own data, but we also are a compiler where we use other data to back up our own data which links(followed) out to the original source. So here are my questions for those of you who improved and those of you who were demoted.

For those of you who saw a Drop:
Do you have any crawled content on your pages? Even if it is a brief blurb with a link, do you have this kind of content?

For those of you who saw an Increase:
What did you change between now and Panda 1.0 that you think is the reason for your improvement?

Our Improvement:
We did see some improvement with some of the sub updates 1.1, 2., and 2.l and this why I think we improved..

1. We had some pages that had way too many links to our other internal pages without much text. We tripled or quadrupled the amount of text on these pages and decreased the amount of links on these pages.

2. On some pages we had very little content at the top of the pages so we moved the majority of our text above the fold.

3. My site is focused on long tail queries so we have our index that is linked out from our home page. We added as much text as we possibly could on these index pages.

My sites are all extremely steady on Google the past few days, but then none of my sites saw significant changes with any Panda update. I don't know whether Panda is processing sites in some order and hasn't gotten to mine yet, or if its effect on me just happened to be neutral.

I mention this because maybe the reason it's not being talked about more widely is that maybe whatever this is - Panda 2.2 or Panda 2.1.1 - is another "fix" that's only going to affect certain sites?

My traffic is steady, but I'm seeing quite a bit of movement of some other sites in the SERPS. I'm also seeing some upward "creep" for some of my pages that had been bumped back from page 1 to page 3 in Panda 2.0. Some of these pages have moved back up to page 2 -- fingers crossed, maybe this is the start of a good trend!

We were in the top 300 sites hammered by panda, according to systrex. We saw continual dropping for about 2 - 3 months. For the last 3 weeks it's been steady traffic from google. This week were seeing about a 10% increase in G traffic. Google bot has been more active around the same period. I'm not too excited yet, we saw some great traffic increases pre-panda 1.0 too. I don't think that they have launched anything new... yet. I'd classify my site as collateral damage, unintentionally targeted by Panda 1.

Ironically, I am getting a lot more referrers from scrapers (despite holding on to normal or slightly better traffic levels). The referrers are more than usual. So I would suspect that based on what I am seeing, this is NOT the Panda 2.2 update. Just one person's observation.

tedster you should put a simple poll on this thread... see what the % of webmaster think something has been rolled out or not...

At the moment I'm seeing nothing different, the same traffic levels etc since Panda 2.1

I don't think it is happening yet....but something really weird is going on.

I am seeing keywords come back that I havent seen since pre panda..Sort of like my big pre Panda rockstars are coming back and saying hello then leaving.

very odd. Google caught up to bring the same (low) daily referral number. Some old keywords, spurts...probably moving data around.

I've been pandalized since Feb 24, not seeing any change.

so even if its not panda something is just not right out there.. There are fluctuation in rankings with odd behavior..Big G is constantly changing the landing pages. The more you target the right landing page, deeper it goes in SERPS.

i did just some checks on the scraper situation and there is change today. the bad ones (copy whole content) are not ranking above my original story anymore. Sometimes the original story is now even on top (searching title). There are still many cases though where legit scrapers (post paragraph and link) with well established domains outrank my original story.

this "cosmetic" changes had no impact yet on google traffic.

rebalus: one of my sites was pandalized, and we were outranked by scrapers for almost every exact-match queries... virtually any query with a long-string-of-words-from-our-site in quotes had us at 3rd-5th and scrapers above us.

today, i am seeing noticeably less of that. in the cases where we are outranked, it was usually ask.com search results pages (basically a scraper), experts123, askville, and sometimes facebook (where a user had copied/pasted our content).

it seems that the tweak that Cutts said was in the pipeline has at least started to be rolled out.

Yeah. Try to fill a DMCA against these Facebok pages. Two days ago they refused to remove from SERP a Facebook page that copied my 300-word post word-by-word, with explanation that they aren't able to locate infringing content. That Facebook page still outranks me.

I've seen two sites that were hit by Panda and one site that was not hit by Panda exhibit the same upward traffic "creep" starting on Tuesday the 14th and continuing today.

I can find no identifiable ranking increases for any of these sites. This leads me to believe the additional traffic is coming from some changes in long tail.

The last two days have seen a tripling of Google's usual crawling level on my site. There's been no traffic change today, so far.

I went through the heavy crawling, boost in traffic, then bottom falling out phenomenon on Feb. 24.

There's not much left for Google to de-rank, so maybe rankings are just going to stay as is. I'd be shocked if I saw any improvement.

Went through the same thing Pre Panda 1.0 and this morning I see the same spike in crawl in WMT.

I have been slowly gaining traffic and almost close to prePanda level, about 80%. I realize that for me to gain back the number of visitors as prePanda, I have to add more content since I have deindexed also 80% of my site.

So a drop in traffic due to Panda 2.2 will definitely be noticed.

So far I have seen no change in the past few days, perhaps a slight improvement regarding keywords and conversions.

We saw some big traffic changes ( minus 20%-40%) on several portals worldwide and in several companies in Europe. We're several SEO's and are wondering if this is the new Panda Update or if this is a normal algorythm change from Google? Did you notice changes the last 2-3 days?

Hello germanprisoner, and welcome to the forums.

As you can see, many people are seeing a major change and so the question - is this a Panda update, or something else, or a combination? Here's a summary of what we're hearing right now in the forum.

1. Matt Cutts indicated last week that a version 2.2 of Panda was in the works, but at that time had not been released. So there's a very real chance of a Panda update.

2. Matt indicated that they were also looking into the problems with scraped content replacing the original for Pandalyzed websites.

3. Some previous Panda demotions are now reported as coming back - this points to a Panda 2.2

4. Other members are reporting that backlinks seem to be getting scored very differently, especially backlink that they arranged are either not counting anymore, or perhaps being penalized. This points to another algo update.

5. Lots of crawling activity, and SERPs switching back and forth rapidly between at least two very different versions.

My own sense right now is that we're seeing two different significant updates. Something updated earlier in the week, perhaps with widespread A/B statistical testing. Then a new version of the Panda algo rolled out.

I can say that the traffic to our sites was strange at the beginning of the week, down about 10% or so, with a shake-up in terms of the keywords getting traffic. Sites that had been very consistent for months started seeing different patterns, and a slight decline in traffic.

Then, as of 6/15, the traffic to our sites nosedived big-time. We're looking at about 50% drop in traffic across most of our primary sites.

I have a small company that does lead gen, so this is a very big deal for us. Each of the sites affected has a blog that is updated at least once per week, but usually twice, with fresh unique content. Our sites were largely unaffected by Panda 1.xx.

In any case, our experience does seem to line up with your theory, I think.

I'm still seeing traffic creeping up for me gradually. Seems to me that with each new Panda update, new sites are hit and the traffic drop is severe. With sites recovering, it can be "jumps" (either creeping and steady increase or in some cases, can be sudden as well). So far, my situation looks positive. I'm up higher than last month and each day shows either holding on to the traffic gained or an increase from the same day in the previous week.

I'm seeing a completely normal Friday however what is noticeable for my widgets is the wide range of other Google.tld results from my referrer logs. Some countries like Poland, Indonesia, Hungary, Slovenia, Canada, Germany and Italy, my rankings haven't changed whereas the UK and USA have a least stabilised and I'm slowing gaining a place every couple of days.

The whole thing seems to be out of kilter!

I an NOT seeing this in a low-volume two-word keyword that I track. Neither for links acquired BEFORE Panda 1, nor for links acquired since.

In that vertical, if those kinds of links were devalued, the SERPs would turn upside-down overnight. So it must be limited to only certain verticals or some other qualifications that trigger this.

My "guess" is this is some sort of Panda "adjustment" because I wasn't affected by any of the Panda iterations, and I don't seem to be affected now.

My site saw no drop on the 14th.

I have been down about 10% for the 15th and 16th compared to the AVERAGE for the week prior.

However, Thursday the 16th was up about 4% over the prior Thursday.

Today looks to be inline with average traffic patterns.

Like Planet13, I'm seeing no change, but didn't see any with the other Panda iterations, either. On two different small (traffic, not # of pages) sites in different niches, here's what I'm seeing:

No drop on the 14th.

Google traffic is UP about just a tad when I compare the average of the 15th and 16th with the average of last week.

Comparing the two Thursdays like Planet13 did, I'm up 6.59% with Google on 1 site, and 1.72% on the other.

Today looks about like I'd have expected, based on what I've been seeing recently.

I'm also located in California.

So, pretty much: ditto.

To put it bluntly, if you were so far successful at ranking because of xrumer-style backlinks (any links you arranged, en masse) and you didn't have much in the way of real backlinks, then you may have seen the bottom fall out around Monday-Tuesday.
