hi guys do you know if google know if an image is duplicated over 2 different domain?
never did some test for it... does it bring some penalization?
example:
website.com/image/2321_myimage.jpg
website.de/image/2321_myimage.jpg

I doubt that this would cause a penalty, even when they have the same file name.

no problem. There isn't any problem with duplicated images (untill now). You can use the picture with the same filename or with different.

if you are talking about organic rankings, there is no problem. webmasters commonly use stock images and some just steal images from existing sites.
if you are talking about image search then you can have an issue just like identical text would have in the organic serps.
