Are you logged into your Google account when you see this?

It's a comment that we can add for a site when signed into the Google Account. I have never seen "Review this site"

Yep I was signed in. It disappears when I log out.

unless they set you up a slew of bad site reveiws via different accounts on different IP's ..something like the "click monkey" system ..

yes "G" may spot it ..and may remove "paid for by your competitors" ..bad reviews..in the meantime ..how many eyeballs may have seen your undeserved bad review ..

"smear campaigns" , "negative marketing" .."paid for negative reviews" and "trashing the competition" are nothing new as tactics to get on in business ..and if all it takes is to set up some dispersed accounts ..

Seems like a way for publishers and advertisers to skew the system. When will the madness end? (grins) What's wrong with a straightforward biz platform where you pays your money, promote a product, and get the sale if your product is what the consumer wants?

I fear the "fairness" litany in recent days is about to hit the web and, if you want my opinion, that's not going to be "fair".

All this does is replace the old icon that allows you to add a comment or review of a site. This came with SearchWiki. I guess Google felt it was important to try to be more specific with searchers. Before they just had an icon that looked like a comment bubble on the right side of "Similar Pages."

At my end I still see the comment bubble and NOT "Review this site"

I'm in the UK, not seeing this feature, even via a US proxy, so I'm guessing its only for US Google account holders.

With a Spanish IP and using google.es I have the speech bubble as rustybrick mentioned. I seem to remember this option first came available mid November 2008. I remember this as my first review whilst testing is logged 23/11/08.

Another column for the Excel Spreadsheet. Google values its own gmail account holders over everyone. It's its own controllable data asset. Test it out and you'll see.

This is very difficult to manage... particularly for a company like G that likes to automate everything... I predict disaster... and perhaps removal of this feature in the near future... unless they plan on hiring droves of moderators to fend off the abuse...

in Belgium its a bubble to... but I was wondering... I never see any comment... what does google do or where/how does it show the comments from users?

It has changed back to the bubble for me now.

We see the comment bubble there.

In Canada I've had this in my G Account for a while now, except that it's not a text link saying "Review This..." instead it is a bubble like in cartoons. As I said, it's been around for quite a while now, but I have never used it, nor had seen any public comment resulting from this feature.

It won't work in my opinion, as people wont use it.

But spammers will, it's gonna get killed with spam if the Comments become visible publicly.

Trying to make everything "social" is plain dumb, SERPs aren't Facebook posts, we don't need reviews and comments there. There are other site for that. What SERPS need to be is a strong data mining algorithm free of span in all its forms.

It's going to make the SERPS look like YouTube comments. Trash. It's like the old dot-com startup 3rd voice that was going to be huge letting people post comments on sites if they had 3rd voice installed on their computers.
