I just read that Microsoft Digital Advertising Solutions recently hopped on the bandwagon of publishers offering behavioral targeting.

Meera Bhatia, group product planner at Microsoft says, "we blend the information that customers offer to us, such as their age or gender, with search and browse histories from MSN and Windows Live"

The complete interview is available (should I post the link too)?

Is Google also doing something like this with searches or ads? (If not today will Google also step into Behavioral-Targeting?)

Thanks,

Google hasn't even talked about it, to my knowledge. The MSN system is a very, very primitive beta compared to what advertisers may be used to in Direct Mail, for example, with its phenomenal database overlay capability. Google's got to be looking at this direction, sure, but I think they would be wise to let this particular recipe sit on simmer for a long time before serving it up to company

Ah, yes, certainly you are correct. But they are not yet talking about offering an advertiser the ability to purchase demographically based ads.

They are not talking about it but certainly they are doing something internally. I get ads that are more relevant for my part of the world now. Hopefully soon they will be able to deliver what is more relevant for an individual.

Google uses cookies and other technologies to enhance your online experience and to learn about how you use Google services in order to improve the quality of our services.

they use .google cookies for their mail services as well.

[webmasterworld.com...] , please give it a look. Google is doing something really great over here.
