Googlebot Referer request?

Does googlebot reveal referer on request

When GoogleBot visits a page on DomainA.com and discovers a link to DomainB.com, will it mention the URL from DomainA.com as its Referer in its request to DomainB.com (as a standard browser would do) - or will it never reveal the external source of the link?

Googlebot never sends a referer header, so there is no way of knowing whether the bot followed a particular link or not.

How should it do that? There usually are plenty of links to a page, which should it show? The first it followed? What if it comes back another day? Should it still show that first link?
