Google Changes Android in Europe to Allow Alternative Default Search from 2020

From 2020, Google will allow Android phone users in Europe to choose a default search engine, from three, in Chrome.

Search providers wanting to be in the top three can bid for positioning, and the new choice screen will be included in new Android phones in Europe from 2020.

It's interesting that search providers will have to bid for positioning.

Look after the pennies and the pounds will look after themselves.

Microsoft should have done it with the choice of the default Browsers when installing Windows :)

Society needed Microsoft to react against before it thought about choice of default Browsers.
