Google Allows Apps to Scan Gmail Account Data

According to the latest update on the gmail scanning situation, Google has confirmed that it still allows other company apps to scan and share data from gmail accounts.

Google says that it's ok as long as the companies have adequate privacy notices.

This isn't going to go well.

I think that in relation to GDPR, Google will find that it is not Google who gets to decide what is OK..

The problem arises from the obfuscation of the privacy notices. The vast majority of people would be surprised by the level of data sharing if the notifications were more obvious.
