Google Makes it Easier to Subscribe to Premium News Publisher Content

Google has launched Subscribe with Google. It's a way to make it easier to subscribe to news publications just by using your Google account. According to Google, subscribers don't need to memorise all the individual subscriber logins.

You’ll soon be able to subscribe with Google on any one of our launch partners, including Les Échos, Fairfax Media, Le Figaro, the Financial Times, Gatehouse Media, Grupo Globo, The Mainichi, McClatchy, La Nación, The New York Times, NRC Media, Le Parisien, Reforma, la Republica, The Telegraph, USA TODAY NETWORK andThe Washington Post—with more publishers coming soon.

At what point is the entire web going to filter through Google? Maybe it has and we don't know it. I appreciate the convenience but wow is this becoming a bit too sticky. Not a newspaper is going to complain about this. At the same time Google making it easier when they themselves get a cut of the ad revenue makes this all a bit odd. No?

So Google entered the affiliate marketing as well!

Anyway, the last Facebook scandal seems to be an eye opener and more and more people changed their attitude to these big online brands. I won't be surprised if some months ahead, Alphabet announces the service will be terminated to have a better user experience and blah blah blah...
