I was thinking the same thing. I signed up for Google Checkout but left after they closed it and never returned to any of Google's other capricious payment systems.

Android Pay & Google Pay look/feel the same. Works well when paying for apps and renting movies. I guess it was better marketing to call it Google instead of Android for all the Apple users who rent movies... also, now that many apps are no longer platform specific, iProduct users can get a supported app from Google Play.
