Google's Android Pay and PayPal in Collaborate over Payments

Google's Android Pay and PayPal have teamed up to enable PayPal payments via Android Pay in the U.S. This new feature should appear within the PayPal and Android Pay app in the next few weeks. [blog.google...]
This seems a strategic move, imho.

This should benefit both Google & PayPal. People like me remove/disable superfluous apps. Google Pay was one of those apps I removed since I already use PayPal in other mediums, there was no need for Google Pay.
On the other side of the coin, PayPal is a stand alone app that needs to be installed. Many users don't add any 3rd party apps to their phones. This would connect these people.
