EU Gives Google More Time to Respond Over Antitrust Allegations

In an extended deadline, Google has been given a new deadline of August 17th to respond to European regulators over allegations of antitrust.

It seems Google hasn't yet offered any documentation, but the EU does want to give any company adequate time to prepare its response.

The European Commission, the bloc’s top antitrust regulator, said in a statement that it had “agreed to extend Google’s deadline to respond” to the EU’s allegations after the company requested the extension to review the documents in the case file. The new deadline is Aug. 17.

I suspect that the additional delay is much more to do with all the civil servants and politicians in the EU ( France especially ) being on holiday throughout the month of July and well into August..

They cannot give G an excuse to challenge their eventual verdict. Providing extra time is normal in these cases.
