I like to keep myself up to date with what is happening in the world by making a daily visit to Google News and checking out what is happening in the countries where I have family and friends.

I am not involved in any way with online news, either the gathering or the publication, so I have no real knowledge of how that sector works and how an article gets to appear in Google News.

IMO, it seems that the news stories and opinions being published are coming more and more from right wing conservative sources, particularly Fox News and the other Murdoch press... especially with USA news.

Is anyone else seeing this or am I imagining it?

I am not a political animal and have no interest in a thread about politics but I am curious about the process that determines which news articles get published.

I wouldn't say this is a very recent change. News organizations get more desperate to survive every year as their revenues continue to shrink. Over the last few years certain news organizations have become more aware of this traffic stream. They have become better at manipulating the Google News ranking algo to gain traffic & boost up their ad views. This is less about political views and more about corporate pressure on news sites to boost profits.
