Blaise Agüera y Arcas, a respected engineer and software designer at Microsoft, has left the company to join its rival Google.
Mr. Agüera y Arcas was involved in a variety of development projects at Microsoft including some on augmented reality, wearable computing and natural user interfaces. I'm surprised that Microsoft let Blaise Agüera y Arcas go. He's one of several people I thought that MS was lucky to have. That said, in the past several years, Google has been moving in directions that would suggest a better fit.
I predict some amazing developments to come out of this arrangement.
