I read about this just yesterday. There are a couple of things that I find concerning about this new Google software:
1. There should be a way for social network followers to know these messages are automated (you *know* you're listening to a recorded message when you call a company's client service and you get one).
2. Google always pushed the idea that any contents we produce should be genuine, so this new software sounds contradicting with Google's preaching to webmasters.
Hiring a social media manager to help out would help more than some automated software.

What is the point of social media if people aren't being social!
I don't like the idea of it learning how we react. Privacy is paramount.
It's automation gone mad, imho.

So my social auto-responder can "talk" to my friends' social auto-responder whilst my friends and I are having a dinner together in person somewhere else, hehe..
