Google paid just £11.6m in UK corporation tax last year, despite revenues of £506m and a £36.8m profit, according to documents filed at Companies House.
It followed a payment of £6.1m in 2011, for which the company posted a £24.1m loss on a £395m turnover. The company made global profits of $10bn (£6.2bn) in 2012.Google Tax Under Scrutiny Over Latest UK Filings [theguardian.com]
The latest Companies House filings showed Google also set aside £24m for taxes associated with shares awarded to staff between 2005 and 2011, to comply with new rules from HMRC.
