Just read an article , google it for the story

What a #*$! scam google is turning out to be

Whilst the Aussie tax system may have loopholes, many countries have, Google managed to pay just $74K in 2011 ::

"estimates of its revenue from Australian ads reaching $2 billion. This meant a tax rate of .000037 per cent"

Whilst i sit here, with my site income goes to 20% of what it was 2 years ago, and google scams tax benefits like that, its pathetic on googles part

Yep, I don't think it's right for a jurisdiction to 'hope that companies will be fair' when it comes to tax.

It's up to each respective jurisdictions to ensure tax law dictates how much is owed...

It's a cat and mouse game with the accountants who are looking for tax-saving measures though, not too different from the relationship between search engines and webmasters.

Well Australia, along with other G20 countries, want to close up these "artificial tax avoidance" schemes.

Curiously, we understand that both Canada and the United Sates appear to be the stumbling blocks to improved international tax treaties.

Time will tell. The ultimate objective is certainly achievable. No Australian government, of whatever political persuasion, is going to continue sweeping the problem under the carpet.

Big businesses pay the lowest tax rates on earnings, this is the way of the world. Change will come when it stops working.
