hmmn..and now read this, Paypal sues google over mobile payment issue [cbsnews.com...] says Google stole its ideas for a new service that is trying to turn smartphones into digital wallets.

The allegations emerged in a lawsuit filed Thursday in a California court after Google unveiled its mobile payment service in New York.

The complaint alleges Google lured away PayPal executive Osama Bedier earlier this year to obtain trade secrets that are now being used in Google's phone-as-a-wallet service.

I know Google did bad, but others are working on the same thing so while Paypal is busy suing Google others are out taking their business away.

Pretty sure PayPal isn't halting innovation because they decided to sue someone. They have more than three people working there.

Google is their biggest competitor for the future. They would be stupid not to sue Google when it's blatantly obvious business secrets were shared. What I don't understand is why PayPal didn't have a clause that you weren't allowed to work in a similar field X years after you leave the company on your own terms. Many companies do this.

Google is their biggest competitor for the future.

I don't buy that because the CC companies, Apple or even Amazon could move aggressively in this space, or something new like the Square, and leave Paypal sitting in the dust. True that Google will be a competitor, but neither them nor Paypal own the mobile payment space yet, it's a toss up for sure.
