Today in our New York City office, along with Citi, MasterCard, First Data and Sprint, we gave a demo of Google Wallet, an app that will make your phone your wallet. You’ll be able to tap, pay and save using your phone and near field communication (NFC). We’re field testing Google Wallet now and plan to release it soon.

Google Wallet is a key part of our ongoing effort to improve shopping for both businesses and consumers.

The major and most obvious flaw: your Google account can be suspended over, say over a youtube comment, or a 'spam' glitch and there goes your weekend or week, assuming it ever gets restored. Google customer service is legendary

PayPal lawsuit alleges Google stole trade secrets

PayPal filed a lawsuit against Google today, alleging the Web giant misappropriated trade secrets from its mobile-payment business when it hired away a key executive [Osama Bedier] in PayPal's mobile payments effort.

The lawsuit, which was filed in Santa Clara County Superior Court in California, alleges that Osama Bedier, a former senior PayPal executive working on the company's mobile-payments platform, misappropriated PayPal's trade secrets when he went to work for Google earlier this year.
